Aurelius Browniesby Mike George
Brownies are always a good idea. We can make it an even better idea with some olive oil and balsamic.
1 stick (8 TBSP) unsalted butter
4 TBSP California Blend Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 TBSP fresh orange zest
6 OZ dark chocolate 60%+, chopped
1/2 CUP cocoa powder
2 CUPS granulated sugar
2 TBSP Chocolate Orange Balsamic Vinegar
1/2 TSP Pink Himalayan salt, fine
5 eggs whisked
1/4 CUP all purpose flour
Preheat the oven to 325°F.
Grease a 9x13 baking pan using a teaspoon of the California Blend Evoo. Line pan with parchment, cut to overhang the long sides of the pan.
Boil water in a pot, bring to a simmer. Place large bowl and set snuggly. Add chocolate and butter to bowl and slowly melt the butter with the dark chocolate. Stir constantly until completely melted.
Remove from the heat and stir in the California Blend Evoo, eggs, Chocolate Orange Balsamic, orange zest and sugar. Mix until well combined.
Whisk together the flour and cocoa powder then and add to mixture.
Place in oven for approximately 30 minutes, Test with a toothpick in the center. When moist curmbs slightly stick, then it's ready.
Allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes and then lift out using the parchment and cool completely before cutting. Will make roughly 24 brownies!
